The past does not have to
rule the present.

Trauma leaves a mark — but it can be processed. I work at a safe pace to help you integrate difficult experiences and regain a sense of control over your own life.

What we can work on

Trauma does not mean only catastrophic events — it can stem from repeated difficult relationships, childhood neglect, workplace bullying, or sudden loss. Any experience that overwhelmed your nervous system deserves attention. I work with a wide range of traumatic experiences.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Complex trauma (C-PTSD)
Domestic violence
Sexual violence and abuse
Childhood trauma (ACEs)
Sudden loss and grief
Accidents and life-threatening events
Suicidal thoughts and self-harm

How trauma therapy works

Trauma therapy proceeds in phases. We start by building safety — you learn stabilisation techniques and emotion regulation skills that help you manage intense feelings. Only when you have sufficient resources do we gradually approach and process difficult memories.

I draw on CBT techniques complemented by somatic and mindfulness-based methods. The pace is always yours — there is never pressure to move faster than you are ready for.

FAQ

Your questions answered

What is the difference between trauma and PTSD?
Trauma is an experience — an overwhelming event that exceeded your capacity to cope. PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) is a condition that may develop following trauma, characterised by flashbacks, avoidance, hypervigilance, and mood changes. Not every trauma leads to PTSD — we can process difficult experiences before they become entrenched.
Is trauma therapy safe?
Safety is the foundation of trauma work. Before we approach difficult memories, we build resources — stabilisation techniques, emotion regulation skills, and a sense of safety in the therapeutic relationship. The pace is always yours — there is never pressure to go further than you are ready for.
Can trauma therapy be done online?
Yes. Online trauma therapy is well-documented as effective. It requires a quiet, safe space on your end and a stable video connection. For many people, engaging with traumatic material in the safety of their own home is easier than in a consulting room.
Do you work with survivors of abuse and violence?
Yes. I work with people who have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse, and other forms of maltreatment. This requires particular sensitivity and a pace fully adjusted to your needs. A safe therapeutic relationship is the absolute priority here.
